Applying for a New Connection
In most cases, the builder / contractor arranges for the necessary electricity connection for the residential and/or commercial premises. However if a customer wants to apply directly for a new connection, following simple procedure needs to be followed:
Step 1
What you need to do…
Collect the appropriate Requisition Form (RF) from our customer care center.
Fill in the required details; attach proof of ownership / occupancy
Submit the duly filled Requisition Form (RF) with the relevant documents
Pay applicable charges and collect payment receipt. Please quote the acknowledgement number in all your future communication with us for prompt response.
What the Company does…
Upon receipt of an application
Torrent Power engineers visit the site where the new connection is required to verify the feasibility of providing the connection
Identify the location where the meter can be installed
Provide the power connection upto the meter point.
Step 2
What you need to do…
Submit the Installation Test Report (TR) certified by a Government approved electrical contractor.
Collect the Connection Time Token mentioning the time for the meter connection.
What the Company does…
Upon receipt of the TR, the Torrent Power engineers visit the site to inspect the wiring system and Install the meter
Customers are requested to note the following:
All documents and payments are to be submitted at the respective Torrent Power Zonal Office only
Please insist on a receipt for all monetary transactions
Please keep your contractor on site and the test report ready when the Torrent Power representative visits the site. This will enable faster service

Changing sanctioned load capacity
The load sanctioned to an applicant is based on their requirement at the time of application. However if, at a later stage, a customer wishes to increase or decrease his sanctioned load, all he needs to do is follow the following simple procedure.
Step 1
What you need to do…
Collect the appropriate Requisition Form (RF) from our customer care center or download it from our website www.torrentpower.com.
Fill in the required details; attach proof of ownership / occupancy
Submit the duly filled Requisition Form (RF) with the relevant documents
Pay applicable charges and collect payment receipt. Please quote the acknowledgement number in all your future communication with us for prompt response.
What you need to do…
Upon receipt of a request for change in the sanctioned load, the Torrent Power technical team visits the location to assess the feasibility of sanctioning the requested load.
Based on the feasibility, connection is provided upto the meter point as per the new load sanctioned.
Step 2
What you need to do…
Submit the Installation Test Report (TR) certified by a Government approved electrical contractor.
Collect the Connection Time Token mentioning the time for the meter connection.
What the Company does…

Shifting Meter Location
The meter should be located in a clean, dry and airy place. The fuse box and the main switches should be easily accessible to the Torrent Power representatives so that they can take the meter reading and conduct repairs and maintenance without causing inconvenience to the customer. If you feel that your meter is not located at an appropriate location and is causing you inconvenience, follow these simple procedure and get it shifted NOW!
Step 1
What you need to do…

Submit the duly filled Requisition Form (RF) with the relevant documents
Pay applicable charges and collect payment receipt. Please quote the acknowledgement number in all your future communication with us for prompt response.
What we will do…
Upon receipt of a request for change in the meter location, the Torrent Power technical team visits the location to assess the feasibility of installing the meter at the new location.
If found feasible, connection is provided upto the new meter location and the old meter location is disconnected.
Step 2
What you need to do…
Submit the Installation Test Report (TR) certified by a Government approved electrical contractor.
What we will do…
Upon receipt of the TR, power supply is connected at the new location on the same day.

Changing User Name
Just like the other utility services like telephone and gas connection, it is also important that the power connection is also in your name. It helps avoid inconvenience while registering complaints or requesting for other services.

Proof of ownership or occupancy is required at the time of making an application. Please submit ANY ONE of the documents shown below.
New connection
- Requisition Form Duly Filled By Customer.
- Applicant’s Passport Size Photo (To Be Affixed On A-1 Form.)
- Photo Copy Of Ration Card.
- Photo Copy Of Nearest Consumer Energy Bill. (Particularly Left Or Right Side Of The Premises.)
- Undertaking On Rs. 100 Bond Paper Regarding Nill Arrears On Premises Where Supply Is Required.
- Documents To Support Proof Of Premises :-
- Registered Sale Deed / conveyance deed / index copy
- Photo Copy Of Latest House Tax Receipt.
- Current year’s tax bill of BNMC / Gram Panchayat / Nagar Palika
- In Case Of New Construction, Completion Certificate From Corporation / Gram panchayat.
- Allotment certificate or copy of resolution on letterhead of registered co-operative society.
- Allotment of certificate of copy of resolution on letterhead of non-trading corporation.
- Current year’s 7/12 extract.
- Sale agreement along with current year’s 7/12 extract.
- Current year’s city survey copy.
- MIDC allotment letter.
- Documents To Support Proof Of Usage Of Premises :-
- In Case Of Premises Is On Rental / Lease Basis
- No-Objection Certificate from owner
- Latest Rent Receipt From Owner

Documents in Special Cases
1. Construction - Permission for construction (raja chitthi) along with approved plan.
2. Industrial purpose - NOC from Air and Water Pollution Control Board where ever applicable.
3. Companies - Copy of memorandum of articles of association, list of directors along with residential address and telephone number.
4. Partnership Firm - Copy of partnership deed.
5. Proprietary Firm - Copy of registration of firm.
6. Societies - Copy of development agreement.
Registration Charges
When you apply for a connection, registration charges, fixed service connection charges, security deposit and miscellaneous charges are payable. This easy reference list will help you know the total amount payable for your connection.
